Quite amazing really that I handled today so calmly.
It is called living your yoga.
When you lock your keys in your car while on a simple errand,
no need to overreact. Just breathe and keep on keepin' on, I told myself.
I got a free scooter ride out of it, too!
I reflected on how much energy it would have taken for me to go nuts
about my mistake today. Instead, the breath was there. no judgement,
although I did reflect on how much attachment I have to my car:)
ie: i am a texas native.
Live in the flow. Live and let live.
Forget and forgive (thy self)

show up and burn brightly
despite what comes up when you are teaching,
when you show up 110% and teach to the best of your ability,
you can walk away from you mat and know that you did the best you could do
you show up.
you burn brightly.
you share what you know.
then, move along in the flow.
namaste!

when you open up and trust
For such a long time now, I have known that my dharma, my duty, is not just with one thing in partiular. My friend, Johnny, likes to call me the yogamarketingbrowniegirl. It is so bizarre, but when I focus on solely one thing, my world spins out of orbit. But when I am doing several things, my world is balanced. So, if you did not know, I teach yoga (obviously) and when I am not doing that, I am planning yoga events with local studios, and doing sales/marketing for Mary Louise Butters Brownies.
I used to want to control, control, control, but now I find myself letting go and riding the moment more and more.
I keep coming back to the book, Meditations on the Mat by Rolf Gates.
This book is so powerful. The quotes, the meditations, and essays.
Ride the moment. Relish in it:)
Today my sutra, theme, was santosha. Finding contentment in the struggle, in the ease.

Let the beauty you love be what you do
"Let the beauty you love be what you do"
I want to give praise and thanks to God for being able to do what I love - yoga.
Sometimes we put limitations on ourselves just through our thoughts.
With me it's always "I am not good enough". What happenned to the
do the best you can? Right.
I subbed a class this evening with the expectation of teaching a vinyasa flow class, as I agreed to sub for a friend. Rather, it was a diverse mix of people, half wanting a hatha class, half wanting a flow class. Every time I teach a hatha class, I am reminded how much I thrive on movement.
Live and let live. There are options for everyone.
I guess what I am getting at is movement and flow heals the body.
Pulsating vinyasa, rhythmic vinyasa, body vinyasa.
Breath vinyasa, life vinyasa, flow.
I live in the flow.
I love waking up and diving in the flow.
My wish is for everyone to find their flow.

Seva/Service
This week I have been inspired by Mother Theresa and her endless acts of service to her community. For the past two years, serving, and I mean REALLY SERVING, has been heavy on my heart. Tonight I volunteered for the first time with the Lake Hills Church - Downtown Mobile Loaves and Fishes team. I tell you what, it was the most EYE-opening Friday night I have had in a while.
In my yoga classes this week I found ways to thread the following quote into class
"Be faithful in the small things, because it is in them there lies your strength."I have always loved immersing myself in experiences whether it be a yoga teacher training,
or going camping my last semester of college on Land Arts, or serving food at the ARCH downtown on a Friday night. For me life is REAL when you get out of your comfort zone or what I call my bubble.
I feel so much gratitude for everything I have. I have not felt that in a while and am feeling very humbled.
Proverbs 22:2 - Bible
Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.
Mother Theresa
Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.
Keep sharing your light!
